31

I have returned from my extended vacation at last. While I was gone I had my 31st birthday and like usual, I spent time reflecting on life as I have come to know it. So I thought I would share some of my discoveries made in these 31 wonderful years of my great big little life with you all. Enjoy…and please, feel free to share some wisdom of your own.
~Love intensifies all. Nothing can be so painful, yet so pleasurable…so nerve-wracking and yet so comforting. Let it in, it is essential.
~It really does not matter how fast you get there if you are headed in the WRONG direction.
~Pain is. Life can really hurt. But it is a necessary evil. As you evolve through it, you can begin to understand it.
~Fear is quicksand. It can stop you dead in your tracks. Fear can only interFEAR.
~What I am watching is not nearly as important as how I am watching it. How you perceive things can shift your very soul.
~Without the right shoes, nothing is possible.
~The world is not so much your oyster as it is your mirror. The world will view you as you view yourself.
~You will never get to that path that leads to getting what you want if you cannot first remove the things that are holding you back.
~Never go shopping for underwear at the bait and tackle store. Some people just aren’t going to be selling what you are in the market for. Accept it and go to another store.
~When you chase something it WILL run away.
~If you keep on doing the same thing you will keep on getting the same results.
~You cannot force someone to love you. All you can do is simply be worthy of love and giving of your own. The rest is up to them.
~Unlearning is just as important as learning.
~If you want your world to be calm you must first learn to find your tranquility.
~The most attractive quality of all is dignity.
~You should never stop making time for playtime.
~Life is the ultimate road trip, relax and enjoy the ride.
~Clouds have silver linings, but silver linings have clouds. Life is a balancing act, be prepared for the good and the bad alike.
~Laughter really does heal. It isn’t just a band-aid; it is Neosporin.
~It is perfectly okay to be imperfect.
~Loving is the reason for living.
~Loving without conditions and beyond questions takes practice and it starts within YOU.
~True happiness is not about what happens, but rather how you react to what has happened. You always have a choice.
~Letting go is hard; hanging on is harder.
~Even better than being pro-active is being pre-active. If you are waiting for life to happen to you, you will be waiting a long time.
~Keep the future in mind, but realize you are here NOW. You are a human being, not a human will-be.
~Believing transcends seeing.
~Sometimes you need to just sit and be. If you lose your center you will become off balanced.
~Being judgmental puts up a wall between you and your potential happiness. Seeing the good in yourself and others actually helps bring it out.
~”Seize the Day” exists for a reason. For what you seize is truly what you get.
~Some things really are worth fighting for. I guess Hollywood can be right sometimes.

Happines IS a choice!!! I love these…are you sure you are only 31? Come on, T, you are really a wise old woman!!! And, yes, I am awake at this inhumane hour because I just wrote a very funny blog and Tom ate it.And, well, quite frankly I got spoiled on the “they will post by 2:30 am” prior schedule!

I feel 100 today, but this has more to do with airport delays than this last birthday. Man, I hate flying!

You got the memo, right? I’m not REALLY forty. I feel about 28 today. Age is a state of mind. We choose our state of mind….old/young, happy/sad, positive/negative, orgasmic/prudish, anal/anti-anal.
Yep. Just had to throw one in there. You know, to see what your partner has to say. And, by partner, I mean Karri!

Life is like a ‘Die Hard’ movie. You already know the ending- Bruce Willis survives and kicks the bad-guy’s ass- BUT you watch anyway, because you just can’t resist seeing the “how” in the middle.
Keep watching.

Funny how vacations, have tendency to make us more reflective especially if it’s a place that you might have called home once, or consider it in a way a home away from home? Great quotes Trista, hope the vacation was all you wanted it to be and then some. I’m in the middle of mine, and it has made me realize, this place is a part of me and will always be, but I know this is not where I belong, where I do, well I’m sure that will be shown to me eventually too.
