Please vote. You do NOT have to vote for one of the candidates. You can write in someone you think would do a better job, from Alfred E Newman ( a perennial fave of writer-inners) to Olympia Snow, who should have bneen sitting where Palin is, to Jon Stewart, who seems to be gaining ground. Have fun with it. The childlike nature of a protest vote should have some appeal. But please exercise your voting muscle SOMEhow!

The writer you cited states his case eloquently and thoughtfully. I've heard much of it before...but maybe not so concisely put. Obama definitely has his upside... but he's got to be able to do what he says he will. HE can't fix the economy....neither has any president that has come before him. He also has to contend with energy concerns...and while many of his economic proposals are sound...his proposals for the maturation of alternative energy technologies are weak. Really weak. You can't buoy the economy...if you can't afford the fuel to run it.

I'll leave it at that for now...

I'm for Obama. I believe that beyond everything else he will get us out of this economic slump. Expert after expert has read his economic plan and said that his plan has a far better chance at succeeding than McCain's.

I truly believe that he will bring us back to the pride we used to have...

But, in times of doubt I always go to those smarter than me. Here's another blogger that lists his reasons why he will vote for Obama. Warning he's a bit cerebral, but worth the read even if it does give you a headache.

Now as far as growing up, I haven't either. At this moment I'm wearing a spider man tee shirt. I went to school in this. I like my tee shirts and jeans. I usually mistaken for someone much younger.

When I tell those I go to school with that I'm 30 and have three children they are surprised. I have a friend in class who is a bit more 'adult' than me.

A younger classmate was shocked when I said I was 30 years old. I told her that my friend was also in her 30's. The younger classmate said that she believed it with my friend, but I was more down to earth... not as many 'adult' qualities.

Though on the political side of things, I registered to vote right when I turned 18.

How about a joke instead?

A guy walks into a bar with a frog and a squirrel and says to the bartender, "How about you give me a free drink, and I'll have my frog play the piano?" The bartender reluctantly agrees, and sure enough, the frog hops over to the piano and starts playing. "That's amazing!" says the bartender and hands the guy a drink. When the guy finishes his drink, he says to the bartender, "How about you give me another free drink, and I'll get my squirrel to sing for you?" Again the bartender agrees, and sure enough the squirrel jumps up on the bar and begins to sing. Another man runs over and says, "That's the most incredible thing I've ever seen! I'll give you five hundred dollars for that squirrel." The guy agrees and the other man leaves with the squirrel. The bartender walks over to the guy and says, "Are you crazy? You could've made at least a million dollars with that squirrel!" To which the guy replies, "Not really. The frog's a ventriloquist too."
